Moscow, ID – January 23, 2006 – Comtech AHA Corporation (AHA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., announces that its lossless data compression and forward error correction integrated circuits are now available in RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant packaging in accordance with legislation put forth by the European Union. Many of Comtech AHA’s RoHS compliant IC’s are already shipping in production quantities with the remainder to be available within the next few months.

Comtech AHA has been shipping lead-free compression devices since 2002 and lead-free forward error correction devices to customers since 2003. Since then, Comtech AHA has been transitioning their products to RoHS compliant packaging on a product-by-product basis as required by the company’s customers. The company plans to have all products RoHS compliant before the July 1, 2006 date as mandated by the RoHS (Restrictions on Hazardous Substances) initiatives.
